I'm optimistic. I won't pretend to know anything about him, but he's huge and that's pretty sweet!

I do like what he's doing, however I'd like to see something like this at the next level before I get really excited.

How do we know Donnay isn't inflating McDavid's numbers?

In any case, Donnay has definitely improved from last season, but his plus/minus is irrelevant to that point. He's improved in that category by about 30; great. It means literally nothing when you consider the fact that almost the entire Erie team has. Connor Brown went from -11 to +35. Dane Fox went from -1 to plus-37. Connor McDavid went from -24 to +34. Adam Pelech went from -16 to +38. Spencer Abraham went from -30 to +22. And so on. Are we supposed to conclude that every single player is dramatically improved defensively? The fact that Troy Donnay just has to stand around at the blueline while MacDavid, Fox, and Brown combine for 2-4 goals every game and pad his +/- stats doesn't make him inherently better.
I like stats, but it also reminds me that context is important. Did the goalie have a good year? did the defense gel? did the offense finally find chemistry? did the PP improve? was there a fortuitous coaching change? did a couple of players have near career years or breakout years that lifted their linemates? Those kinds of factors things can make some stats snowball in a positive way.

Anyway, Troy Donnay, freaky tall and slim dude, might be exploiting a size advantage in the minors?
Either way, I'll take it; we need all the prospects making progress we can get on defense.

Pretty decent but nothing too remarkable. My focus is mostly on this other guy who plays for them haha

Fun story: I went to a Princeton-Dartmouth game at the Hobey Baker Arena in Princeton in the fall of 2003 to see Jessiman play. When I left the game, what you just said was the only thing I was able to say about Jessiman. Not comparing the two, just got a chuckle that that was your takeaway from watching him.
