Meh, everyone looks bigger in hockey gear, so that's not the best representation.

Meh, career -65 and a -39 last season. 17 career points in 143 games. Wouldn't have used a contract on him.

Sergei Tolchinsky wants a contract with us after impressing at development camp. He also went to camp with the Canes and Muller said he was the best player there. They are now after him as well as we are the only two teams he is eligible to sign with. Rumors are he is going to be on our Traverse City roster. He is much more deserving imo, so I hope this doesn't cost us him.

Chara couldn't even skate when he was 19. It's never that bad to take a low risk on a guy with unteachable physical gifts.

Because We are at either 48 or 49 contracts at this point and the limit is 50. Sometimes teams don't like to use them all to keep room at the deadline.

It doesn't count against the contract limit if he stays in Juniors, which he will.

It doesn't slide until the season starts. I just counted and we are at 47 contracts plus we have Stepan and Mashinter as RFA's, so we have one more to use. I hope they use it for Tolchinsky, but they may use it elsewhere. Just not sure Donnay was worth one.

Bit of breaking news: now that Troy Donnay has a pro contract, he's begun competitive eating training with Dustin Byfuglien.

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with undrafted free agent defenseman Troy Donnay.

Donnay, 19, skated in 68 games last season with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), registering one goal and seven assists for eight points, along with 48 penalty minutes. He served as an Alternate Captain, and was one of only two Erie players to skate in all 68 regular season games last season. He tallied three points (one goal, two assists) in a four-game span from October 13 against Mississauga to October 20 against Windsor.

In 2011-12, Donnay split the season between the London Knights and Erie, registering one goal and seven assists for eight points, along with 44 penalty minutes in 50 contests. In 23 games with London, he registered three assists, along with 16 penalty minutes and a plus-seven plus/minus rating. Donnay tallied his first career goal on January 7, 2012 against Kitchener.

The 6-7, 195-pounder has skated in 143 career OHL contests over three seasons with London and Erie, registering two goals and 15 assists for 17 points, along with 104 penalty minutes. Donnay made his OHL debut on October 1, 2010 against Owen Sound, and registered his first career point with an assist on November 12, 2010 against Barrie.

Wipe if posted already -- imagine Troy is still OHL material right?.

Dude is large! If he gets to Hartford in a year, it could mean maybe McIlrath is New York-bound next year?

This is hysterical. I just hope the rangers get tough again this year we missed that aspect last year.
