He's been on the 2nd line for the past few weeks.
These are Tarasenko's numbers during his time in the KHL.

Kid has some skills
The KHL has resumed and Buchnevich tallied two assists tonight.
That makes 17 points now. At 18 he is by far the highest scoring teenager in the KHL and even if you include 20 year olds he is outscoring the closest one by 7 points. Safe to say he is the best young player in that league. Tough to say who our best draft pick is from this draft, but after a month off this kid comes back and suddenly reminds you that it might just be him.
He's definitely our most skilled prospect. Russians are so god damn unpredictable though
With those numbers, the downside is that the KHL will be making every effort to keep him. Rangers better be ready, savvy and on it when it comes to retaining this player at the appropriate moment in his contract expiration, if not before. I'm sure he will attract mucho Rubles.
Good to hear we have maybe a better prospect on our hands there than I'd initially imagines when he was drafted. I don't know what kind of NHL-ready defensive attributes he might have at such a tender age, but at least he is playing with men over there, so he wouldn't have to make that adjustment twice, as it were.
With a bit of luck his 170 lbs (per OP source) will turn to more like 180+ by the time he's 20.

If n ya gots jowls, they might as well be furry ones
I think the fact that it's the Rangers will sway him to come here... unless he's super impatient and can't wait for his payday
Butcher followed his strong performance by scoring the game winning goal today.
More things to put this kids season into perspective. He is the 3rd highest scoring 18 year old in the history of the league. His points per game this season at 18 are higher than Tarasenko's as a 20 year old. He went 7-11-18 in 39 games this season. Blue Jackets first round pick Marko Dano scored 4 points in 40 games.
According to reports from those who watched, he dominated the play these past 2 games with the puck and was also really stirring things up by agitating and playing very physical.
Per the KHL website, he's up to about 177.
Blueshirts Brotherhood. We do what we must because we can - for the good of all Rangerkind
Left wing Pavel Buchnevich, selected No. 75, had seven goals and 11 assists in 40 games for Cherepovets of the KHL and has come to New Jersey to train. Clark sounded high on his prospects.
Is he over 100 lbs yet?
Probably still a longshot, but an exciting prospect no less. I really like his game

New Severstal head coach Nikolai Solovyov tells Russian media he will trust youth this season. Singles out #NYR prospect Pavel Buchnevich.

One thing missing for Buchnevich last season was significant PP time. I'm positive he'll get that this year. #NYR
Nice. Thinking 3 years out? Next season AHL, then good shot at NHL?
Thinking one more year in KHL and he makes the team
I wonder what you're basing that on, since no European player has walked on to the team right out of a Euro league in recent memory. They all go the AHL, even if they get called up mid-year.
And yes, everyone thinks this guy or that guy is immediately NHL ready, but in reality it has not been done that way by this team, since the lockout, really.
