  1. Fox is finally starting to be a bit selfish and is realizing or remembering that he has an awesome shot. This is what Laviolette was saying he wanted out of his D-men. Fox getting it all together is huuuuuge for the Rangers.
  2. I don't think we are disagreeing here. But I think Laviolette had a certain type of player that he wanted for the 3rd line. With how he's pretty much stuck with mostly the same lineup throughout the season, it's not too far off to think that if Chytil didn't die this season, Laviolette would have kept things intact or kept the mindset of needing a player like Trocheck on the 3rd line and Chytil with Panarin. But, we'll never know. Like I said, I didn’t mind his contract. I thought it was pretty good. Some had issues with the term and the thought of him already being put on the 3rd line. I thought it was a really good fit and no matter where he wound up in the lineup in the next 3-4 years, it was very manageable and would still look good in his later years as the cap would rise. He may have come to NY in good faith on a cheaper deal, because of his history with Gallant. But with how they were yelling at each other in the post season last year, mayyyybe not. I get that his boxcar stats from last season aren't terrible. But he really didn't click with Panarin. They were a mess. Trocheck was really chucking some awful bombs at really bad times. He wasn't bad. He just wasn't bringing what some of us expected. I actually don't think he's over achieving. I think this is what you get from this type of player from this coach. It's why I wanted the type of players I wanted at the deadline. Players who play more like Trocheck........ Annoying, in your face, gutsy, North/South, multi function.
  3. Some of us had a little bit of buyers remorse after last season. It's not that his numbers weren't good last season. They were alright. But how much he really wasn't clicking with Panarin was concerning. Coming into this season there was concern that his cap hit was a bit much for where he was supposed to slot in. He was going to be the 3rd line center. I never minded the contract and always figured he'd wind up on line 3, but much further down the road. The cap hit would be fine at such a time, as the cap would rise. The point of the post was to say, he's doing what many of us were hoping to get out of him last year.. And it's making a huge difference.
  4. Imagine that being the talking point of the thread. That's your focus. Awesome.
  5. I honestly was trying to think of one like that. Dropped the ball on that one. Rushed the post.
  6. Guy looks like Freddy Mercury, but he is playing like an Allstar. He's doing everything. A true revelation of a player we all hoped the Rangers signed before last season. It didn't look like the best move by last seasons end. He really didn't click that great with Panarin. Somehow, someway (maybe coaching or maybe Panarin is really playing THAT good), he's become the teams top performing center. He's playing a style of hockey that most fans have been wanting to see for years. He's a buzzsaw. He's involved in most every shift that he's on the ice. His faceoff ability is also a game changer. That contract sure looks great now doesn't it? I can't wait to see him do this in the playoffs. Panarin is having a great season himself, but nobody really talks about Trocheck and how important he is to the teams success. Thanks for all your daily effort sir. It is noticed and very much appreciated.
  7. Most Valuable Panarin This guy just keeps going. One line team again, but boy are they playing elite level hockey. Trocheck too. Who saw this season coming from him? He's our #1 center on our #1 line. It's been official now for quite a bit. Zibanejads line is line #2. Maybe it's better that way.
  8. Hey look Cuylle scratched . 3.6 million pile of garbage with 1 goal is in the penalty box and won't be sat.
  9. Seriously. Is there dome agreement with these asses that they will only score or shoot a certain amount of times a night? WTF is Fox doing?
  10. Fox. Keep shooting! Jesus. This guy could be putting up 15-20 goals a year if he stopped deferring at every opportunity.
