He probably should have just retired in the offseason instead of early in the season. lol Unless, he just lost the passion overnight. He was always fun to listen and a big part of my childhood. He will be missed. They are honoring him at the Stadium on the 20th.

They absolutely nailed the atmosphere. It is perfect.

I also thought the same thing about the Rangers early opponents last year. lol I know this team looks more dominant and is better coached, etc. Nothing is a given in the postseason, ask the Bruins from last year. I don't think I'll ever feel totally confident in the playoffs. lol

Compared to the second half of last season, and the playoffs as you mentioned, it looked like they had a completely different player. But no, it was Laf taking the bull by the horns and giving us a great glimpse into the future. I don't care that Panarin was a beast this year, he looked really damn good anyway. Being in the vicinity of 30 goals, being still only 22, is a great achievement and I think we can officially stop worrying about this kid.

Them playing Detroit and having Kane light them up would be the most Rangers thing ever. lol

Anybody but Pittsburgh. You're always going up against them, the refs and the league. I want no part of them. Plus, you could argue thus was one of Crosby's best seasons.

The last time the Rangers won the Cup: They won the President's Trophy. America hosted the World Cup. There was a Spring solar eclipse. OJ Simpson was in the news. There was an earthquake in the NY/NJ area.

The real season is just beginning, but damn, this was a magical regular season. They had a time in January where they were average at best, but basically went wire to wire leading the division. Monster winning streaks and insanely consistent, career years from some guys. Lafreniere blossomed, along with some others, a memorable win outdoors. Chock full of fun and memories.

I will likely to begin drinking heavily on Sunday.
