Before that, you didn't get any shoot out wins and 5 on 5 OT wins were much harder to come by. Before 1983, you couldn't even get an OT win. This is not to say that our second best record since 2005 isn't nice, but it really doesn't rank with our best post-war teams, like the Francis teams or 1991-92 and 93-94.
