  1. Goorow and Blais have no chance being in the top 6. Just look at their career offensive production. Kakko is on the top 2 lines this year. As far as Kravtsov. I think he's gone in a deal for either Eichel or Dvorak.
  2. He was ranked in the late teens an early 20's pretty much everywhere. Othmann is a lazy moron. He generally is clueless. This like Cuylee is another player which this pansy team has been lacking for a long time. No more soft euro's. Or soft college players who don't hit. They don't win playoff games. Not to mention our players are easily the worst in the entire league at getting the puck through to the net. Hitting the net. Shooting the puck. Getting open for shots in tight areas. Essentially the Rangers entire game plan is to make 3 or 4 east-west passes and try to shoot it into an open net. We now have two power forwards in the system with excellent shots and hands. I'm trying to figure out when the last time that happened. Maybe never. The euro-pansy days of the Rangers are over. Better get used to it.
  3. Buchnevich is a losing player. He's soft. He has no toughness. Using your stick, taking dumb penalties is not toughness. In 8 games vs. the Islanders this season Buchnevich had 0 points in 7 of them. That basically sums him up and several other pansy forwards on this team. Most of the Rangers fan base doesn't seem to want to accept the fact that hockey is a 4 line game. That size on defense matters. That physical play matters. Having third and fourth lines that can shut down other teams best lines matters. Winning faceoffs matters. As great as Messier, Richter and Leetch were, the Rangers don't win the cup without Matteau. They don't win the cup without that Noonan line. Noonan who really scored the game winning goal in game 7. They don't win the cup without McTavish winning a crap load of draws on the 4th line. You have to win games 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 in the playoffs while playing north-south hockey. Not this east-west finesse crap the Rangers have been doing the past 3 years.
  4. Nonsense. Team doesn't need leadership. The future leaders of this team are Schneider, Lafreniere, Lindgren and Fox by his play. They just need time. The team needs players that can win freakin faceoffs and guys that can play big when the games get physical. That crap about Eichel not being a leader is just that. Crap. Buffalo is a loser organization. They have been drafting high forever and they still suck because the people running that organization are morons. I think Lundkvist will be a stud but we need a Schneider more than a Lundkvist. So if they sent Strome, Buchnevich, Jones and Lundkvist to the Sabres for Eichel and their highest 2 second rounders this year then do it. Eichel has played with schmucks his entire career. If he's physically sound, it's a win giving up a package like that. Me, I'd rather go for Horvat or Larkin.
  5. Fox is a tremendous player but he's not moving any of those forwards on the Islanders out of the crease. Jones isn't anywhere near the player Fox is.
  6. It's unfortunate for Lundkvist who I have loved as a prospect that Fox was here vs. Rangers fans who are OK with having 2 or 3 smaller defenseman are entitled to your opinion. However, I can assure you that your opinion means absolutely nothing to ownership, Drury, Sather and Messier. Sather is in Dolans ear. Messier basically called the team a bunch of soft pansies and he's right. The idiotic AV thinking will no longer be tolerated here. The Drury promotion stamped that. AV was a clown. All he wanted was puck moving defenseman. He didn't value size on defense. Toughness on defense. Stay at home defenseman to clear the crease. Thus why the team got worse and worse on defense with him as coach. It's also why Gorton gave away Graves for nothing. Those days are over. This team will get bigger, tougher and meaner all over the roster. Bank on it. Especially on defense. Colorado won't be able to protect Graves. So unless they give up a pick to tell Seattle who they want to take, he will be claimed. I personally think this draft is weak. I wouldn't be opposed to acquire Graves and Kadri in a Buchnevich deal, then trading our first rounder to Seattle to dictate to them who they will take. That being said, I think the only player that makes sense in this draft is Tyler Boucher. Big mean, nasty wing that is ranked 36th in the draft. So, if they keep their first rounder, I'd trade back, try to pick up a nasty role player, take this kid later in the first round.
  7. For starters, the game was nothing like today years ago. The weight training is superior. Players are bigger, faster and are much stronger. There is a difference being 6'2, 197 pounds compared to 5'10, 180 pounds. A huge difference. Again, do some research and look at the height and weight of the defenseman for the teams winning cups. They might have one guy under 6 feet. Fact. Can't be disputed. If you think you are going to win playoff series with 2 or 3 defenseman who are 5'10, 180 pounds, you are living in a world of make believe.
  8. Reinhart is always noticeable. Buchnevich is vastly overrated by Rangers fans. He stinks in big games. Every time the game gets physical, he vanishes and can only retaliate with his stick and takes dumb penalties. Reinhart is a much better player. He's just stuck on a crap team. In 8 games vs. the Islanders last year Reinhart had 4 g, 3 A, -1. That with a coach that the team hated to begin the season. Vs the Rangers he had 4 G 5 A in 8 games -2. So, how you say he isn't noticeable is a joke. In 8 games vs. the Isles Buchevich had 2 G, 1 A, 0. Poor numbers considering he's on a top line. vs Buff in 8 games he had 1 G 6 A +2. You put Reinhart on this team, you're quickly see just how much better of a player he is than Buchnevich. Which is why you are going to have to throw in a Jones. That might not be enough. You might have to send over Buchnevich and something more significant. The year before in 3 games Buchnevich had 1 g, 0 A vs the Islanders. To me, Reinhart is figuring out how to score vs. the better defensive teams. Buchnevich is not. That and Reinhart has had a completely inferior supporting cast to work with. Especially on defense where those guys suck at moving the puck.
  9. I think he gets traded. Look at the size of defenseman cores that win the cup each year. Look at the size of the defenseman in the last 4 teams standing this year. You don't win with shrimps on defense. Jones will never play here long term. Lundkvist probably not more than a year. You can carry Fox. That's it. The rest have to be big or at least 6'0 and physical. Fox, Miller, Schneider, Robertson, Trouba, Lindgren. That's how I see it going forward long term. Size on defense is a huge factor in the playoffs.
  10. I'd much rather they moved Buchnevich, Jones and Blackwell for Reinhart and a pick. Reinhart has a tremendous shot. He doesn't pass up shots. He's a north-south guy. Tough. On a better team he will pump in 35-40 goals every year. He's the guy I would target there.
  11. Brooks is an awful hockey writer now. Used to be very good. I don't even make it past a couple of lines in his crap now before I move onto something else.
  12. Barron and a guy like Richards are far more important to the teams future than Fast. The Rangers are an atrocious faceoff team and it hurts them badly all the time. Richards and Barron both have the ability to be plus faceoff guys are were elite defensive players in college. There is no need to not let them try and make this team.
  13. If the Rangers don't plan on signing Strome, I see them signing Fast. Brooks is a senile, old fart. 90% of the stuff he writes now is absurd.
  14. Rangers will not trade Georgiev for a crappy second rounder and prospect. Second round picks turn out to be a good player about 11% of the time. 89% bust rate. Georgiev is younger than Shesterkin. A team will either have to offer up a first or a top 4 defenseman, top 6 winger. Otherwise, they can kiss off. Once again a team like Edmonton shows it's goalies suck. Gorton was after Puljujarvi before. However, guy I would be focusing in on as well is McLeod. He's big, very fast and has the potential to be an elite PK guy with some offense. Kind of trade this organization needs is something like Georgiev and Andersson for Puljujarvi and McLeod. That's the type of move they need to make but it comes with big risk. If Shesterkin goes down and Hank retires, who will take the nets? Can Wall be ready that quick? Will Huska take a big step up?
