  1. The fuck? Guess it's going to be that kind of an officiating standard this series.
  2. Wait, what McIlrath was a Rangers draft pick?! I'd have never known, thanks Sam!
  3. Roy does have history coaching Varlamov from their Colorado days, and seems to favor playing him more over Sorokin since he took over the coaching position.
  4. Good news: "Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said that Pesce's injury is "not looking good" and that he would be re-evaluated on Tuesday. It sounds like Pesce is going to miss some time, which would be a huge blow to the Hurricanes' blueline. " Need the Isles to win a couple more and drag this thing out to 7 and bang each other the fuck up in the process.
  5. It'll certainly be interesting to see if they turn back to Sorokin for Game 3, after benching him for Varlamov for the key games down the stretch and now Games 1/2. Unless they've lost confidence in him and are going to live/die by Varlamov.
  6. I expect the opposite. I think they're going to try and take more chances and try to open up things a bit more, and for sure play a more physical game. It'll be important for the Rangers to try and stay patient, not get dragged into a track meet and stick to their gameplan. The mistakes and opportunities will come. Be ready to capitalize on them. Lets fucking do this.
  7. I was referring to in the playoffs, not regular season play. In the regular season, he seems capable of having these mini hot streaks and pulling out Ws, whether the Avs are scoring a pile of goals or not. But playoffs are another story. Just doesn't strike me as the kinda goalie who'll make that big save at a key point in a critical game, or stand on his head in an elimination game to help his team advance. Yeah fair. His overall body of work across the season didn't seem excessive to me, but certainly down the stretch it seemed like he was playing just about every game which I would agree was bit of mismanagement on the Avs part.
