I don't watch Canes games. Had no idea how much Hamilton is struggling there. No wonder they're willing to move him. He's on pace for like 25 points.

Boston got rid of him for cap reasons. The Flames got an extremely good haul for him. Neither of these signal to me that "NHL locker rooms don't like Dougie".

Carolina is significantly underachieving this year. This was supposed to be the year they took a step forward towards playoff contention. They are near dead last in the league in scoring. His low point production is a result of the Hurricanes having no goal scorers, and not the cause. His Corsi is excellent. It makes sense for the Canes to look to trade from strength for goal scoring, and Hamilton is good enough and carries enough trade value to get back quality goal scoring. Additionally, with a team like the Canes having a team mandated cap, they can't just take on more salary. Most of their cap is invested into defense, so it also makes sense that they would want to re-purpose the cap space taken up by their highest paid defenseman and convert it to goal scoring. None of this signals "NHL locker rooms don't like Dougie". I'd trade for him and not think twice about it.

In fairness to Carolina, Lindholm had 4 seasons with them and never scored 20 goals in a season. Far from a goal scorer. That's like trading Jimmy Vesey. Yet, he now has 20 goals in 43 games with the Flames. Is that because he finally broke out or because Carolina is horribly coached?

Lol +1. Obviously I was just guessing. Sounds mostly like just bad luck for Carolina on missing Lindholm's breakout.

The stuff about the museums is overblown.

Whether Dougie is a good guy or not is pretty irrelevant - he just doesn't seem to fit in the locker rooms. That's an issue for a sport so heavily dependent on chemistry and all of the intangible stuff.
