The Los Angeles Kings will be naming a new captain for next season as TSN Senior Hockey Reporter Frank Seravalli tweeted on Friday that Dustin Brown has been told he will no longer wear the 'C' for the team.

Brown captained the Kings to Stanley Cup victories in 2012 and 2014.

Good money would be on Kopitar being named.

Bit of a strange move. I wonder if that would ever happen with the Rangers where a guy captains a team to two Stanley Cups and then gets the C stripped off him?

Worse yet, they still have six more years of him at $5.875M. He and Callahan have, arguably, two of the top-10 worst contracts in the league.

Maybe they'll give it to Donald Trump.

Shame we have the #1 worst contract in the NHL and it isn't close. Girardi is even worse than Horton's, because he have to play him on the team.

My second choice would be Drew Doughty

Man, with the way Girardi is playing, I feel like he may end up being the team's next Roszival (who I felt terrible for btw)
