WTF, this series starts when the first round is still going on? (ANA vs. NSH game 7 is also Wednesday)

BrooklynBoy89

Man, the schedule really fucked the Ducks/Preds. Must have thought it would be a quick series lol. If they are starting the ECSF Wednesday, surely the WCSF with the Sharks can't start Friday? They will be so far behind right off the bat. Unless they are doing a ton of 2 day breaks again, like they did with us.

WTF, this series starts when the first round is still going on? (ANA vs. NSH game 7 is also Wednesday)

I've seen it happen before in the NBA because they have an issue with drawing out their playoff series's with 2, 3 sometimes 4 days off, but not in the NHL. Very strange

Why can't both of these teams lose?

Blue Heaven
04-26-2016, 10:08 AM
Im going to assume they are starting tomorrow due to arena conflicts. Amalie Arena has something going on Friday/Sunday, and the Biebs is at Barclays on Wednesday/Thursday.

Gonna take a guess, Wednesday/Saturday/Tuesday/Friday or something like Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday/Tuesday

BrooklynBoy89

OH SHIT! Stamos was practicing today! In a non-contact jersey of course, but still. If he ends up playing soon, going to be a super quick series for the Bolts.

Reading some of the Forums and Comments on articles regarding the Isles/Bolts... Man are those Isles fans pissed about this playoff format. Haven't seen a single comment where somebody isn't talking about how they had more points, played in a harder division, or should have home ice. Also, fans are pretty upset that the article says it would be an upset if the Isles win, since the Isles did have more points than them lol. I personally think it would be an upset, Tampa is a Cup contending team, and if they are healthy, it will be really tough for the Islanders to win.

Has to be due to the arena conflicts. Games 1-4 will be spread out like crazy. Still sucks for players and fans that the game was scheduled with less than 48 hours notice.

I hope I am wrong but I see the isles taking care of Tampa rather easily. Please prove me wrong, please prove me wrong, please prove me wrong. I really hate that I no longer have the whole "no series wins since 1993" to hang over my friend's heads whenever they bust my chops about 1 cup in 75 years. At least I was born and old enough to enjoy that one cup.

This is a hungry young NYI team that's been itching for some playoff action...but I think their lack of experience especially in goal won't get them too far. TBL's run from last year will help them the longer this series goes.

NYI are a hungry young team right now cause as a group they've barely seen any action. You saw the difference against the battle scarred Rangers who're kinda the opposite. But they're lacking a lot of playoff experience and I think that's where TBL's will shine through especially the longer this series goes. Plus I think they've got the better goalie as well.

I don't miss him or his massive cap hit at all, not when we have similar guys on the roster now making too much money even if they "try/work hard.

Take a guest browse of the Icelanders thread at mets refugees for example

Every loss and most win threads are dominated by refs conspiracy against the saintly and persecuted Icelanders

2 pp in 3 games? Wow, that's pretty surprising. Only watched bits and pieces of the series but from what I've read, this series sounds a lot like the Rangers/Kings series, shouldn't really be 3-1

2 OT games and the Lightning had to come back in the 3rd to tie both. Could really go either way, but that's the playoffs for ya..

I'm glad Tampa didn't trade Stammer for a ransom.
They'd be another best for years to come

I'm sorry but no Ranger fan could ever, ever, ever want the Islanders to win over any other team in the league. There are close seconds, but the Islanders are top of the list of teams I'd never want to see win.

To be honest, at this point...at least for me...its mostly their fans. I actually love watching them play. They play that fast physical game I wish we played instead of looking like a bunch of pussies on the ice. But yes, when I watch them play I prefer to watch them lose haha.

They could play the most beautiful version of the game, have a guy that breaks every record in 1 week all while saving kittens, puppies, small children, and cures every disease along the way and i'd still hope they lose every game they play. It's the Islanders. Fuck them.

They just said the Bolts are 2-15 in the series on the PP, so I doubt they only had 2 pp heading into the game the other night... But that's besides the point. Been a very close series, Bolts could easily be down 3-1 so I can see where the Fans are coming from. Glad the Bolts are winning though, one more to go.

Tampa seems to have a solid strategy going today. Solid defense, puck control, get the puck on net. Nothing stupid.

And Zidlicky retires as a healthy scratch. They signed him FOR the playoffs, gave him a contract to keep him fresh the whole year, and they only played him when Pullock got hurt. Had 2 gw ot assists, then got scratched again. Rangers should have signed him instead of Boyle.

On a separate now, how do you guys think FLA would've done against TBL? I firmly believe FLA lost that series due to a few unlucky bounces that went the way of NYI. I think they would've done only marginally better than NYI and probably lost to TBL in 6 games.

The whole "tanking to play Florida" situation basically.

Mike

I don't recall any words between them in the media. Is there an article somewhere about them ? Either way, to publicly tiff about that situation is fucked up on a professional level. They're basically saying Florida sucks, no matter how you spin it.

Capuano's response: http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islanders/jack-capuano-responds-to-alain-vigneault-s-critique-1.11683609

Yeah, every team did rest their guys in the last game, including Philly. But the question is, would anyone do it if the playoff system was different?

Thanks for sharing, btw !
