Early in the first period, Duncan Keith got tangled up with Wild forward Charlie Coyle. Coyle wrangled Keith to the ground behind the play, and Keith quickly retaliated with a stick swipe at Coyle's face.

Coyle was bleeding but otherwise fine as he returned to the bench. Keith was assessed a five-minute major for high-sticking and a match penalty for intent to injure.

He's awesome.

But this shit gotta stop. He did the same shit to Jeff Carter.

Maybe Charlie got into Mrs. Keith too.

Yeah, he's probably gonna get two or three games for this, too. Bad break for the Hawks with the playoffs around the corner.

The fucked up thing is that the entire WC wants to avoid them in the first round even though they've been struggling recently.

He should get the rest of the year. Third time offender with blatant intent to injure.

He won't, but he should.

Can't say i blame them but I think LA would give them trouble. They have looked much much better down the stretch

I think a number of teams can give them trouble. That doesn't mean those teams want to play Chicago in the first round though.

IMO 5 or 6 games. 5 games would be rest of the season. 6 games would be 1 game into the playoffs. Dont think they would punish Chicago more than that.

It's bullshit that this guy is going to miss such little time. He should get 20 games, minimum, which would be basically the first 2 rounds.

Fuck. Imagine he clipped Coyles eye? That could have been so much worse.

I like Keith as a player but he's a douche when it comes to retaliating. Not the first time he's done something stupid. I agree he should sit for a good amount of games for this

He can appeal anything more than 5, right? Gotta imagine they would if this spills into the playoffs.

He should be tossed for the rest of the season plus playoffs. It was a disgusting slash, and he waited and looked up at Coyle before he slashed him. I like Keith, but there is no room for that in the game. That was 100% intentional.

Give him 10!

Give him 10!

:word: at least.

They gave Chris Simon 23 or so games? This is the same shit, going for the head. 10 games.

They just said on the Wings/Wild broadcast on the NHL Network that Keith got 6 games

I love those Player Safety videos. Great job at breaking it down as to why or why not a player was/wasn't suspended.

Saying that, as a repeat offender of this horrendous offense, he shouldn't be allowed to play a game until next season.

This is such bull.

The NHL is a league that caters to it's stars, everyone knows that. But they aren't even trying to be transparent with it. This is the 3rd egregious, intent to injure, headshot of this guy's career. 6 games is a criminally short suspension.
