I don't understand what poor Roman did to warrant that beat down

Yeah, I'm having a hard time myself, but I didn't watch the game. Only the clip, so I dunno if there was carry-over from something else that occurred that night or not.

But I'm with you fully on this point — Darnell Nurse is not a man to fuck with.

Nurse absolutely fed him his fists. Jesus.

Nurse getting a rep, no?

I don't exactly know what the hearing is about... because Polak didn't drop his gloves? It looks like Polak approached Nurse.

Either way, it's been a while since we've seen a beating that bad and I loved it.

Apparently it all started from a hit from Polack on Hendricks. Article says it was borderline, but Nurse took exception.

Didn't see the game myself but if it was in fact a dangerous hit I've got no problem with this. Love seeing players stand up for their teammates. Can never have enough of that IMO.

Well I'd like to see the hit. I'd like to see the 240 pound Polak maybe try to defend himself too.

It looked like Polak was "tapping out" so to speak after getting decked. I think that there's always kind of been a rule between fighters that, once a guy is giving up or whatever, you don't keep pounding on his face.

I remember Colton Orr, a couple of times, letting guys go when he could have absolutely murdered them. In this case, I think the messaging from DPS would be soemthing along the lines of "the fight itself was fine, but it looks like intent to injure when Polak stops fighting." In the heat of the moment it might be hard for Nurse to really know if Polak was done fighting, but I think that's probably the issue.

thanks for the article. here's a blurb

Polak was penalized for interference on a play that resulted in Hendricks taking a hard fall into the boards. It initially looked like a hard, borderline hit, but it was really nothing more than two players in a race for the puck colliding with one another and one of them taking an unfortunate fall.

Nurse getting a rep, no?

As someone not to fuck with? Absolutely.

I dunno if it's good or bad, though, if that's what you mean.

But I have little reason to doubt he'll be a boon for that market.

From which perspective?

From which perspective?

Polak is a big man. Polak is a fighter. Polak appeared to hit Nurse's teammate dangerously. Polak skated towards Nurse like he was the aggressor, and proceeded to get shit kicked. What's the problem?

A fight should be between two willing combatants. At least let the guy defend himself. Dunny, you say you would have liked to see him defend himself. Well he's getting wrapped up and demolished by Nurse before he can even respond. Instinct kicks in at that point.

I think I see Polak throwing a punch before Nurse did.

Sure, I agree. I was just trying to figure out your actual position.

Polak didn't even get his gloves off before Nurse destroyed his face.

If you can get suspended for aggressing an altercation in that manner then I'm glad the NHL DPS doesn't have cameras in my bedroom.

I definitely think he jumped him.

Nurse has impressed me with his ability to obliterate all comers but maybe it's time he fought somebody who actually uhhh fights.

Would like to see Darnell Nurse vs Evander Kane

It was an ambush, but 3 games is a lot from a league that declined to punish Simmonds after the McDonagh incident.

Simmonds was reacting to a cross-check to the head, though.
