interesting, I guess Colorado would be trying to re-sign him. This is the type of move you make as a rental if you're a contender, and I can't imagine Colorado thinks that they are.

HC @ Noon today spent a lot of time talking this deal and pointed something out that's, frankly, huge:

If I asked you "what player in the NHL do you think lead the entire league in power play time?" how far down the list do you think Boedker would be? Because the answer might shock you, seeing as he leads it.

What does that say about his production this year? That it's probably an abberation. That the Coyotes likely just pumped and dumped a player the Avs thought was better than, and worth more than, he actually is.

His production this year is so far the same as the last two seasons.

2013-2014 - 82 games, 19 g, 32a = .62 p/g
2014-2015 - 45 games, 14 g, 14a = .62 p/g
2015-2016 - 45 games, 13 g, 26a = .63 p/g

His career average is .48 p/g, but he's clearly done better than that the last three seasons (including this one).

He's definitely got more PP points this year, but that just comes with more time:
2013-2014 - 5g, 11a
2014-2015 - 3g, 9a
2015-2016 - 3g, 15a

Overall, he's performing about the same.

Right, but like with Dubinsky years ago, when you have a second/third line player playing as a first-line player because your team lacks star power, those numbers can wildly misrepresent the player you actually are when you are then asked to play down in the line-up, which Boedker may do with the Avs, playing behind Landeskog and Iginla. Unless they move him to LW (he's a RW), and allow him to step into their top-6 in place of Grigorenko.

Right now he stands to unseat Comeau as third line RW. Is he going to get the same amount of PP time, or even close to it? And how much will that affect his production?

Just look at Stempniak with the Devils. THey got a 2017 2nd and a 2016 4th. We got the wrong Klingberg.
