[I]QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

"I was kind of up and down. Probably trying to do a little bit too much. Should have been a little
bit simpler there, especially in my first game back in a while. It's a team that's physical,
fast, doesn't give you a lot of room to make plays, tough to beat one-on-one. I found out a couple
times I should have been more simple. But legs felt good, everything else was good that way, so
it's a good sign.”

— [B]Ryan McDonagh following the Blues game

"Andy Bathgate was a strong leader, a consistently prolific scorer and a fierce competitor. Andy
was an All-Star, a Hart Trophy winner, a Stanley Cup champion and a Hall of Famer who earned
the respect of the entire hockey world. The NHL family sends heartfelt condolences to his family
and his many friends."

— Gary Bettman following Andy Bathgate's death

Nice job coming out of the corner and shooting by Miller. Just a few inches far to the left.

That had to be for something else Sharp had done in the period

Phil in Absentia
02-27-2016, 04:45 PM
Patrick Sharp just ducked a hard right cross at the last second there from Glass. Ref nearly caught it too.

Exciting first period. Love what I'm seeing from our younger guys.

Btw, it's going to be 4 on 4 start of the second period. Haven't heard NHLN announce it, but Sharp gets two minutes for cross checking and Glass gets two minutes for roughing.

Probably because they can afford to go to games in Dallas.

I completely agree with that. I tried grabbing tix the minute they went on sale and couldn't get anything under $200 and I really don't feel like paying almost double face value for obstructed view/nosebleeds. It's a shame really. I remember getting playoff tickets no problem for about $100 ~10 years ago and now you're lucky if you can get tickets for a weekday regular season home game against an out of conference team

We need 6 high quality chances to score they need 1.

It's amazing. Their two highest point producers have 70 and 67 points. Their 3rd highest point scorer has 52. In comparison, we don't have a single player in the 50s. Our 3rd highest scorer barely has 30.

It looks harder for the Rangers because it is. We don't really have top end skill.

NYRangers723

Stepan really has been horrendous this year and probably has partly impacted kreiders play this year

02-27-2016, 05:38 PM
Jesus where has this level of effort been from Kreider all season?

Bugg
02-27-2016, 05:40 PM
In some ways as we as they've played all year. Annoyed that Kreider didn't convert on the 2 on 1 after the goal, and why he eff Stepan took his time there. Was down on Lundqvist, no more. he's been great.

Greenday4537

I meant passes across the front of our net way too much. In front of Hank, one of hockeys biggest no-nos.

But yeah, he does tend to try to shoot from weird angles, and once it goes in he uses it more frequently for a bit then slows it down.

Valiquette said on post-game that it was a goal, Rangers got saved by a rule.

Ruff had every right to be pissed.

We have had people here complain over similar situations.

Giacomin
02-27-2016, 08:56 PM
Don't care about Ruff or who has a right to complain. But didn't Valiquette say... NO goal, that the ref was positioned perfectly to make the call.

At no point did I or anybody I know of actually see the puck fully cross the line. Nobody in Toronto, even with all those angles and video tools. What rule saved the Rangers?

RichieNextel305
02-27-2016, 08:59 PM
What rule? You need conclusive evidence. There was none. It was probably in, but that means nothing without conclusive evidence.

ThirtyONE
02-27-2016, 09:04 PM
I mean... the puck was obviously in the net

RichieNextel305

Pete
02-28-2016, 07:46 AM
That the rule, that you need to see white between the puck and the line.

Physics says if the puck came out of the net at that angle, it had to be in the net to begin with. But the rule is that you have to be able to see the puck in the net on camera... Which when you think about it is pretty dumb.

If the original call was goal, it would have been upheld and Ranger fans would be complaining.
