Puck-rakers: #CBJ Brandon Dubinsky faces supplemental discipline from #NHL after crosscheck on #Pens Crosby http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/blogs/puck-rakers/2015/11/dubinsky-will-have-hearing.html …

Belresky's hit on Stepan was a lot more predatory than this and the NHL wasted no time saying that Dubinsky will have a hearing.

Theres no place for this shit in the game. You can't use your stick as a weapon. Period.

As for this vs. the Belesky hit. You gotta be kidding me. This shit is violent and unnecessary.

He got him up around the neck. Really dumb move by Dubi.

Gotta take the blue tinted shades off here, dude. There is no way that a hit that Stepan saw coming and could have avoided/protected himself against is more predatory that a crosscheck to the back of the neck.

Gutless play by Dubi there.

And forget just the cross check to the head/neck. Dubinsky also broke his stick over Crosby's back as he lay on the ice after the fact. He cross checked him twice.

Bye bye, Brandon. My guess is four games.

What do you mean huh?? You don't see it?? Let me break it down to you, the owner of the Bruins is also the head of the Board of Governors so this guy has considerable pull in the league. You don't think that's why Belesky got no other discipline?? Where as Crosby is Bettman's "boy" and he's gonna protect his boy no matter what.

No, I think the reason he wasn't disciplined is because it wasn't a hit deserving of supplemental discipline based on the NHL's rules.

I also don't buy the conspiracy theory thing.

A game ,wonder what would have happened if Crosby or malkin did that ,oh absolutely nothing would have happened.

Didnt something similar happen to a Ranger last season? Cant think who, but someone came down hard to the back of a Ranger neck in front of the net as the Ranger was on all 4's. Was brutal. Not only no call but no mention of any discipline if I remember correctly.

I think Dubinsky should have gotten a few more.
Just no place for that in the game.

Yeah, I was thinking more like four. But Crosby ended up OK (injuries are a factor) and I don't think he's had any supplemental issues in the last 18 months. Probably why it's only one game.

I hate that they base punishments on the fact that there is no injury. IMO, that shouldnt matter, the player did something wrong, punish them so that they think twice before doing it.

So do I, but it's written into the CBA. Even if they didn't want to, they have to. It's a part of their guidelines.

I don't think Duby xchecked him on the neck intentionally. He first started by pushing on his hip, which is to keep your opponent off balance. Once he started inching his way up, his shoves got more violent. He just kept shoving, and xchecking without looking at where his stick was. Crosby was getting lower, and they were both looking at the puck. On Duby's last shove, his eyes were glued to the point. Definitely have to be in control, and responsible for your stick, but based on how I saw it, it wasn't intentional. The xcheck across his back was the cherry on top. That was fuckin stupid.

I don't know about that... I've crosschecked enough people to know, you know where your stick it's going.

MAYBE I can get behind him wanting it to be more of a shove and less violent, but do you really feel Dubi didn't realize he was getting Sid in the neck?

When he made contact with his neck, his eyes were on the puck. That's what I saw. I don't think he's upset about it, but I don't think the neck shot was intended for the neck.

there is a bit of a history between those two.

Dubi is another one of those players with a 10 cent head.
