"Obviously, [Madison Square Garden] is where you want to be," Haggerty said. "But I think this is a good step for me, to keep developing. Luckily I'm still pretty young. But obviously you want to make that jump as soon as you can."

Thanks, forgot about Haggerty, with all the angst over the blue line's shortcomings, it's nice to be reminded we have one more bona fide prospect in the system than we did before he was signed. Really impressed me in camp.
Again, good job by Slats and the team. I used the word prospect, but with the thought that he's closer than a lot of what one would call prospects. If this were Edmonton I wonder if he might be playing already? New York, on the other hand, might take a little more time. Sounds like the kid has a good sense of perspective and some patience.

Haggerty played well in training camp and could be among the candidates for a promotion, assuming he maintains that level in Hartford. But he did distinguish himself in front of New York's hierarchy.

"I'm very happy the way I showed myself," Haggerty said. "I know I can play at the next level. I just have to make myself a complete player, where I can be an everyday player and not just an up and down player from AHL to NHL. So it's just day by day, sticking to the process and really respecting the game and really being an honest player."

Not exactly a blue chip prospect, but excited about him nonetheless. Best part is we got him for free. Same with Bodie who's off to a good start (5 points in 7 games)
