Faiz

Three things I want from this game:

1. The King we all know and love to return.
2. Solid D, the Rangers we know that don't mind getting down and dirty to make those blocks
3. Good passing.

Other than that I just really wanna see Stemp or Malone rewarded for there consistent game on the ice.
Man, did they surprise me so far. Show up every game, and are everywhere.

This game is today the 19th i believe, not the 18th.
BTW maybe it's only me but I think that 3rd line might be pretty good, also excited about the first line, think it can be really good.
I think Hayes has enormous upside and he could very well be the real deal there. I really hope they give him a real shot to play with Nash for several games. Just don't really see any weakness with Hayes, he's big, strong, skilled, poised, smart, a fluid skater and has a good shot.

Man, that top line is ridiculously big and the rest pretty tiny. Not sure how well that will end up working

The more I think about this, the more I agree.

There's no size anywhere else besides the first line. Last year's lineup had speed and size all up and down lineup.

I don't think anything is "winnable" right now based on how we've looked since the Blues game (terrible). Much less against a stacked team

Eh, small unskilled lines might get manhandled but MTL has rolled out some effective midget lines that are similar to that line.

Not sure that's a concern at least offensively. Defensively may be questionable but both MSL and MZA are both decent defensively as well.

It doesn't matter who's stacked. This is the NHL, it's a winnable game. They had their hands full last night in the 3rd period, and that will be only 20 hours from tonight's start.

Rangers could learn a lot from the Sharks' PP. No one holds the puck for more than a second. Quick, non-stop movement and shots. Pass, pass, shot. No goal? Recover, repeat.

I don't do predictions. I'm not clairvoyant. You could just see it coming with Hayes based on how effective that whole line has been tonight.

Didn't Gomez score any empty netter off the draw vs. the Devils in the playoffs?

This has been a great bounce-back game coming off a pretty rough prior week. Great games out of Lundqvist, Hayes, Dom Moore and Nash, among others. Stempniak still effective, and Hunwick looks a whole lot better tonight.

Just gotta hope whatever went wrong with Girardi (blocked shot) is minor and that he won't miss much, if any time.

A game like tonights shows the difference between Miller and Hayes, IMO. I know it's only one game, but Miller's effectiveness when playing with top-6 players just wasn't there. Not nearly the way Hayes' has been.

Yeah 82 games a (regular) season is not doable, especially those West Coast games. I am not watching 2am (or later) starts outside the Playoffs. Gotta think about my job too. :D
I believe I catch around 60 games a season, not counting Playoffs.

I was thinking the same thing. Miller did far less with every shot he's had than Hayes did with the one full game he got with Nash and Kreider. This line was really good and it wasn't because Nash and Kreider were carrying Hayes.

They definitely have different games. It also helps that Hayes developed a physical aspect that showed through tonight in addition to Kreider's. They got a little extra time and space. It also helps that all three of those guys are 6'3"+, but I liked what I saw out of them. I hope they can withstand the test of time.

Play this game next week, and the score could be reversed. We caught this team at the best time possible. I'm not taking anything away from the win, but just trying to view this game for what it was. If not for Hank, and Hunwick early on, this game could have had a different turn.

Absolutely, but at this point, any win is a good win. They needed that confidence boost, especially going into NJ and MTL.

IMO, this was a huge win. It gives the offense, the defense and goaltending some much needed confidence. San Jose isn't a joke team this year, their first two games were both shutout wins, and regardless of us playing their backup, they still had their star players in the lineup. Lets hope this is the start of things getting turned around.

They have all the reason to feel confident after that win, and I hope they roll it into the next 3+ games. I was just pointing out that this was a game that needed to be won. I don't care how many stars a team has, this was their 3rd game in 4 nights, and 2nd in less than 22 hours. They were ripped to be picked off.

Take the win. Of course it was good to see us play with 4 centers and while I'll root damn hard for Hayes's success on the top line, despite the goal you have to take a wait and see attitude.

Definately a getaway day game for the sharks.

how but those face off wins.... who saw that coming.
