A few more pairs and he will have more equipment than Alex

Don't know why goalies don't make the inside of the pads look like the ice and the outside to look like the posts. It would make it harder to see the holes when they're down or covering the angle.

I believe the NHL frowns on it. I don't remember if it was Marc-André Fleury or not, but there was a goaltender in recent years who tried to go with bright yellow pads that had kind of a ring forming around both knees that the NHL rejected.

Have a feeling this setup is going to look better with the white jersey.

I am not that big a fan of blue touching red in color schemes but I'm sure it will grow on me. From what I saw of his mask it had a lot of silver on it so they don't exactly tie together.

Like the pads a lot. Not a fan of the blue cage though. Whatever. As longs as he's stopping pucks he could be ass naked and I wouldn't care.

I know this is an old thread now but I haven't been on in a while and I am catching up. As a goalie myself who hates the boring trend of all white/mostly white pads I see these as a huge improvement over last season's gear. IMO this is his best setup since his TPS days. The mask is basically the same except the "crown" above the cage and the cage itself is blue instead of white. It still has all of that stupid glitter crap that I dispise as well. A typical DaveArt mask with a mishmash of all random shit thrown everywhere. He has amazing skill as a painter but his style sucks if you ask me.

Regarding making pads look like a goal or ice it just doesn't work unless your in your crouch and even then its not very deceiving. Once the goalie goes down into the butterfly it just looks plain dumb.

I think his second pair of TPS xhale pads in white were his best looking set. If his first set had white instead of silver I probably would have picked those. Next best after that were the R8s and honorable mention to the R10. After that the only ones I kind of liked were his second one95 graphic, and last years totalone.

From pictures I saw he isn't using the same gear as the first post in training camp.

These were my favorite, followed by the inverted version that were primarily blue.
