I've never seen a fly-by this low. Absolutely nuts.

On Memorial Day night, the Mets had a home game vs. Pittsburgh. Now, I'm literally a 5 minute drive from Citi Field. I could basically see it from my house. It was around 7PM and I had just come inside to watch some television. All of a sudden, you hear this plane and it literally sounded like it was about to land in my house. You couldn't hear anyone in the house. We all froze. I eventually got up and ran for my basement incase something disasterous was about to occur, lol. Luckily enough, I look at the time and it was about 7:05. And then it hit me that it was likely a fly-over for the Met game.

But shit. You wanna talk about a scare? I won't lie. It was a shit-your-pants kind of moment. I was horrified, lol.

Yeah for Memorial Day I dont even have to go to Jones Beach. I just sit on my lawn as they take off from Republic Airport. The take-off is probably about 100ft above my house.

That kind of stuff never bothers me, I love it. I was going to join the navy and fly for them before I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We used to go down to Virginia Beach every year for vacation when I was little and my pop would take me to Norfolk when the aircraft carriers were coming it, was always my favorite thing to do.

We sailed through Norfolk and the navy base to Portsmouth marina last year and I was impressed by what I saw. Amazing location and great equipment there.

Yeah, the place is really awesome. There's nothing like seeing groups of f-18s and f-14s (then, when they were still flying) coming in in diamond formations, or groups of UH-53s. Those things rock the earth when they make formations.
